Second Chances

There is a baby born without breath. The doctors work quickly to save her, and she takes her first breath. From there she goes on to develop new life saving technologies. A man attempts suicide, but he is unsuccessful. He would later go on to help with suicide prevention, saving hundreds of lives. A person has over dosed and they are brought back to life. They then go on to help save the lives of thousands of others caught in the horrors of addiction. What are second chances? Some call it God’s grace, God’s unmerited favor, a kindness we don’t deserve. Sometimes we might have a plan for our lives, but God has a much bigger plan in store for us. A plan that we could never predict. Maybe a second chance is living a life built on sin and being restored, rescued from a horrible life. Going on to be a good person and contribute to society in a positive way, one that we could have never foreseen before. We live our lives touching others and helping them out of their wickedness, guiding them to the light and showing them God’s righteousness. Second chances are something that not everyone gets the privilege of experiencing. What will we do with a new beginning? Do something great with your second chance, change the world by contributing great works and endless love for others. There is a reason you have been given a second chance, make the most of it. Make a difference.

Why faith?

Faith is believing that something will happen before you can see it happening. Believing that everything will work out exactly the way it’s supposed to. Believing you are exactly where you should be in your life at any given moment (even if you are not where you would like to be in life.) It is the driving force that keeps you going when you want to give up, when hope is so far away, faith whispers everything will be okay. It’s like stepping out onto a branch with the fear that it could break, but doing it anyway having faith that the strength of your own wings will carry you if that branch should break. When you don’t understand why something is the way it is, or why things have to be so hard, or why you are where you are in life, faith keeps you going and gives you a deep inner knowledge that these things will pass, they will get better, you will overcome, even if you can’t see it for yourself, or you don’t understand how things will come together, or you aren’t sure if you will be okay. At the end of the day sometimes it’s faith in a better tomorrow that keeps us going. Faith is a necessity and it cannot be taught it must be felt through your soul, with your heart, it can be strengthened if we practice listening to it.

Faith is one of the greatest tools to use to fight off the enemy. When your head is full of doubt, your heart is full of sadness and turmoil, faith steps in to restore peace and tranquility giving you a deep inner sense that you can keep going, you are strong, you are worthy, things will get better, you are loved, someone out there needs you, you have helped someone, maybe without even knowing how much you truly helped them. Faith gives us all these things, so many times we don’t recognize how important it really is to keep the faith in our lives daily, these are just a few examples. What about taking a leap of faith and turning your back on old habits, quitting your job for something better not knowing how it will work out, just knowing you must do something different and it is going to work out the way it should, moving to a new area not knowing anyone or where anything is but having faith that the right people will come into your life. When you lose faith, it is dark, cold and scary, you then need to find a way to get it back. Talk to someone, ask them about how God is working in their life, help someone who needs help to get you out of your own problems for a moment and help you feel better. Look at the trials of your past and how things worked out and how you always made it through them and stood to see another day, another chance at life, what a beautiful opportunity! Not every day is going to be easy, but faith shows us that it is always worth it.

Now Faith is

Now faith is:

Faith is the ability to see beyond sight, it takes us to a place where reality is what you make it. Our confidence as walkers in faith allows us to do more, to see more and to live more than the average person. Make no mistake, walking in faith is not the road of ease. Walking in faith is the road of the supernatural. So today consider the path that you are walking and really ask yourself, are you living your best life? Are you walking in faith?

How is God calling you to serve Him? But I must explain to you how all

How is God calling you to serve Him? But I must explain to you how all

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure? On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains. But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness.
